(See Matthew 19:6.)The apostle Paul further taught that the marital relationship is to be an ongoing demonstration of the sacrificial love that Christ showed His church.(See Ephesians -33.)Let’s look at this issue more closely. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth. Jesus Christ reiterated the importance and permanence of marriage.Marriage provides a platform for accomplishing God’s intentions for mankind.God, the Creator of humanity and of marriage itself, has laid out His plan for marriage as a lifelong union. When we stray from His plan, as we have seen in the studies mentioned above, the results are damaging on many levels. When we recognize our purpose is to reflect the image of God, we see that we have an opportunity to be a witness to a lost world. Reproduce God’s second purpose for marriage is to reproduce: Marriage is an opportunity for men and women to produce children.Children are a gift from God and with them comes great responsibility: children are to be raised in His “likeness.” (Though many married couples do not have children, they still have an opportunity to disciple others to conform to His “likeness.”) 3.

Marriage is a significant institution by which a lost world can see Christianity in action.

He created others that we might also learn to live with and love those He places in our lives.
